Shoppers Win Big as ‘Shop & Win’ Campaign Concludes with KSh1 Million Grand Prize

The Hub Karen has awarded shoppers cash prizes and luxury travel experiences in the grand finale of its festive-season Shop & Win”campaign, marking the close of a promotion aimed at rewarding customer loyalty and boosting experiential retail.

About The Hub Karen

The Hub Karen is a family-friendly lifestyle destination offering a mix of retail, dining, entertainment and leisure experiences, positioning itself as one of Kenya’s premier integrated shopping and recreation centres.

The winners were unveiled during an event held in Nairobi on February 13, where one lucky shopper walked away with the campaign’s top prize of KSh1 million one of the largest shopper reward payouts by a mall this season.

The initiative, conceptualised as part of the December holiday celebrations, culminated in a draw supervised by the Betting Control and Licensing Board of Kenya after the campaign closed on January 12. Customers earned entries by shopping at participating outlets within the mall, turning routine purchases into opportunities to win.

In addition to the cash prize, other winners received premium travel rewards, including a fully sponsored trip to Cape Town with return tickets provided by Kenya Airways, as well as a two-night full-board getaway at the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club.

Mall management said the campaign was designed not only to reward shoppers but also to position the centre as more than a retail space.

The mall manager speaking at the event

“The ‘Shop & Win’ campaign was created to celebrate our shoppers and reward their loyalty in a meaningful way. We continue to evolve as more than just a shopping space; we are a lifestyle destination bringing together retail, leisure, travel and community experiences,” the mall manager said during the announcement.

The campaign also highlighted the role of partnerships in delivering large-scale consumer experiences. Collaborators included Kenya Airways, the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club and Standard Group, which helped amplify visibility and engagement.

A representative from the media partner noted that the collaboration expanded the campaign’s reach to wider audiences, while Kenya Airways said the travel prize reflected its commitment to connecting people to memorable experiences beyond transportation.

Strong participation throughout the promotion signalled growing consumer interest in destination malls that combine shopping with entertainment, dining and curated brand experiences under one roof.

The Hub Karen says it will continue rolling out customer-focused activations aimed at enhancing footfall while creating memorable shopping experiences.
