The Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has cautioned the youth against misusing social media platform.
According to Musalia he accused the youth of beliting the top leaders in the country which was uncouth.
It has become a more for the youth. to belittle the leaders which majority of them think is fashionable.
Speaking in Moi University Añnex during the Software 2025 summit Mudavadi said nowadays the government is very keen and will even deny the youths visas to travel abroad after scrutinizing their social media accounts.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary salso advised the youth to be good Ambassadors of their mother country once they travel abroad to seek for greener pastures saying that they should not involve themselves in unbecoming behaviour at .the expense of their lives
Echoing his sentiments
County Government of Uasin Gishu has embarked on a series of strategic initiatives aimed at expanding opportunities for young people to innovate and excel within the rapidly evolving digital economy.
Governor Jonathan Bii affirmed that the establishment and equipping of ICT centres, alongside the provision of Wi-Fi hotspots across the county, are among the deliberate interventions his administration has prioritized to empower the youth and nurture a culture of innovation.
“In this era of Artificial Intelligence, it is imperative that we create avenues for our youth to fully harness the immense opportunities available in the digital space,” said Dr. Bii.
He further noted that his administration is implementing a countywide programme to provide free wireless internet hotspots, enabling young people to access digital resources, develop innovative solutions, and translate their skills into viable economic ventures.
Dr. Bii emphasized that Artificial Intelligence continues to transform the way people live, work, and grow particularly within the digital economy and agricultural sectors.
“Our goal is clear: to build a smart, innovative city where AI strengthens all pillars under Nguzo Kumi,” he stated.
The Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy, William Kabogo, together with other senior national and county government officials, attended the three-day summit currently underway at Moi University School of Law.
