Merishaw School Soars in Academic Excellence and Regional Growth with Equity Bank Partnership
Kajiado, October 27, 2025 — Merishaw School, a fast-rising academic institution located along the Isinya–Namanga Road in Kajiado County, is redefining excellence through a strategic partnership with Equity Bank Kenya. The collaboration, now in its third phase, continues to support the school’s expansion and growing regional influence.
Equity Bank Managing Director Moses Nyabanda and his team paid a courtesy visit to the school, where they were received by Chief Principal David Kariuki, formerly of Alliance High School. The visit aimed to review progress on the institution’s development projects, which have been financed through Equity’s Asset Finance facility worth hundreds of millions of shillings.
Under the partnership, the school has constructed modern infrastructure, including state-of-the-art classrooms, spacious dormitories, multipurpose halls, three school buses, and ultra-modern sports facilities. Kariuki noted that the school has grown remarkably from 100 students just three years ago to over 800 learners from across the region, including Tanzania and South Sudan.
“Equity Bank has been instrumental in our transformation journey,” said Kariuki. “Their support has enabled us to build facilities that meet international standards. Our very first cohort of candidates last year posted a mean score of 10.56, with all students gaining university admission. Equity is more than a financial partner it is part of our family.”
He further commended the bank’s role in promoting financial literacy, urging for continued training on responsible borrowing, saving, and investment among Kenyans.

In his remarks, Nyabanda lauded the school for its outstanding results and holistic development approach. “You have demonstrated that academic success can go hand-in-hand with excellence in sports and arts. Two of your students are currently on sports scholarships at the Barcelona FC Academy, which is a remarkable achievement,” he said.
Nyabanda outlined the bank’s tailored financial solutions for teachers, including salary advances, affordable loans, overdraft facilities, and wealth management products. He emphasized that Equity is now a one-stop financial partner, offering services beyond traditional banking, including insurance and payments solutions.
Addressing students, Nyabanda shared his personal academic journey, urging them to prioritize excellence. “Your KCSE results can define your life’s direction. Aim high and stay focused,” he advised, highlighting Equity’s Leaders Program (ELP) that supports top performers to secure places in world-class universities.
Last year, Merishaw produced stellar results with seven students scoring straight A’s, 23 A-, 16 B+, and all students proceeding to university two of them joining the prestigious ELP program.
