Anti-Phishing Awareness Drive Equips Kenyans With Skills to Outsmart Cybercriminals

News Light Kenya, in partnership with the European Union (EU) and Access4Safe, has intensified efforts to educate the public on phishing scams as cybercriminals continue targeting unsuspecting internet users.

The campaign aims to help Kenyans recognize common phishing tactics, including fake job offers, fraudulent bank messages, and deceptive emails designed to steal passwords, banking details, and personal information. Through public awareness activities, digital campaigns, and educational materials, the initiative encourages people to verify suspicious messages before responding.

Organizers emphasized that genuine employers, banks, and government agencies never ask for passwords, PINs, or payments through unsolicited emails or text messages. Members of the public are urged to avoid clicking suspicious links, confirm information through official channels, and report suspected phishing attempts.
