According to police, the operation was carried out after gathering intelligence on the gangs’ activities. In one of the raids, 12 suspects were arrested in a cramped one-room house in Kaloleni Estate, where they were allegedly planning their next move.
The operation, led by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), followed credible intelligence received on Monday, March 23, 2026, indicating that a senior military officer had been profiled and was being targeted for a violent robbery
The arrests followed a Sept. 2, 2025, complaint filed at DCI headquarters by NSSF, which reported that its property in Arthi River, within Mavoko Municipality in Machakos County, had been unlawfully claimed and transferred through forged documents.
