Progress and Purpose: Luqman Ali Sets Sights on South C Leadership in 2027
City politician Luqman Ali has formally announced his plan to run for the South C ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) seat in the 2027 General Election. Unveiling an agenda anchored on Progress, youth empowerment, and community development.
Speaking on Sunday, March 15, Luqman expressed confidence in winning the seat currently held by Abass Khalif, who is reportedly looking to run for the Lang’ata parliamentary position. He emphasized that his leadership will aim to create opportunities for residents and improve the social and economic situation in South C.
Luqman pointed out that the ward has significant untapped potential, especially among young people. He aims to unlock this potential through specific empowerment initiatives.
“My vision for South C is clear: empowering our people and building a stronger, more united community. I plan to prioritize youth empowerment through skills development programs, mentorship, and practical opportunities that allow young people to create jobs instead of waiting for them,†he said.
He mentioned that his plan includes supporting small businesses, encouraging innovation, and implementing initiatives to improve livelihoods and uplift families across the ward.
Focusing on results, Luqman stated that leadership should go beyond promises and concentrate on meaningful outcomes.
“Leadership is about action. I am committed to working closely with residents, listening to their concerns, and providing solutions that bring real change to their everyday lives,†he said.
Regarding key priorities, the aspiring MCA promised to improve security by enhancing community policing, increasing street lighting, and collaborating with security agencies and residents’ groups.
He also stressed that infrastructure is a major priority. He pointed to the need for better roads, improved drainage systems to address flooding, and efficient waste management services.
Luqman, who recently supported families affected by flooding, stated that his experiences on the ground have shaped his understanding of the ward’s urgent needs and strengthened his commitment to responsive leadership.
