Nairobi Member of County Assembly (MCA) Alvin Olando Palapala has strongly condemned Governor Johnson Sakaja, accusing him of orchestrating the mobilization of goons to intimidate him.

The incident reportedly involved an attempted attack on Palapala following ongoing political disagreements within Nairobi County Assembly.Palapala, who chairs the Planning Committee, has been a vocal critic of the governor’s urban management policies, questioning the legality of some building approvals and committee appointments under Sakaja’s administration.

Speaking during a press briefing MCA Alvin Palapala, claims that the governor’s actions have exposed him to intimidation and threats, compromising his ability to serve his constituents effectively.

“This tension comes amid broader criticisms of Governor Sakaja’s leadership from other MCAs, who have raised concerns over mismanagement, lack of proper governance structures, and inefficiencies in critical areas such as revenue collection and service delivery,” he said.

The situation has heightened political tensions within the county assembly, with calls for President William Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga to intervene to restore order and ensure the safety of elected officials.
