Michael Loikenu Lenasalon Takes Over as Principal Secretary for Devolution
Michael Loikenu Lenasalon has officially taken the reins as the new Principal Secretary (PS) for the State Department for Devolution, succeeding Ms. Teresia Mbaika in a handover ceremony held at Teleposta Towers, Nairobi.
Ms. Mbaika now moves to her new assignment as Principal Secretary in the State Department for Aviation and Aerospace Development, under the Ministry of Roads and Transport.
The transition was witnessed by key stakeholders in the devolution sector, including Mr. Victor Odanga, Director of Programs at the Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee (IGRTC).
Mr. Odanga joined others in welcoming PS Loikenu, who is expected to bring fresh momentum to the department’s mission of deepening devolution across the country.IGRTC, a state agency tasked with fostering consultation and coordination between the national and county governments, lauded the incoming PS’s experience and commitment to public service.
The agency expressed confidence in PS Loikenu’s leadership, emphasizing its readiness to continue collaborating with the department to enhance service delivery and strengthen intergovernmental relations.
As PS Loikenu steps into this pivotal role, expectations are high that his tenure will bolster ongoing efforts to build a more effective and responsive devolved system of governance for the benefit of all Kenyans.
