Makini Schools, part of the ADvTECH Group, has announced the acquisition of Regis Runda Academy, marking a significant expansion of its footprint in Kenya’s private education sector.

The institution, located in the fast-growing Ridgeways area northeast of Nairobi, has a current capacity of 2,000 learners. Following the acquisition, it will be rebranded as Makini School Runda, with ADvTECH set to take over operations on 20 August 2025.

Horace Mpanza, Regional Managing Director at Makini Schools, welcomed the move, saying:

“We are pleased to welcome the Regis staff, students, and parents to Makini Schools. We plan to build on the strong foundations laid by the founders and take the school to the next phase of its development.â€

As part of the integration, ADvTECH will invest in AI-powered digital learning tools and upgrade sporting facilities to enhance student experiences and improve academic outcomes.

ADvTECH Group CEO, Geoff Whyte, said the expansion underscores the group’s long-term commitment to quality education in Africa.

“We are delighted to increase our Makini Schools footprint in Kenya and to bring our compelling proposition to parents and students in one of the fastest developing regions of Nairobi,†he noted.

The acquisition comes amid a wave of growth for the education group. In November 2024, ADvTECH purchased Flipper International School in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and in June 2025, it launched Rosebank International University College in Accra, Ghana.

These developments align with ADvTECH’s strategy to provide superior private education across Africa, leveraging technology, modern facilities, and strong academic traditions to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving learning environment.
