JESTER MELI UNVEILS 6-POINT DEVELOPMENT AGENDA FOR KILIBWONI WARD, VOWS TRANSFORMATIVE LEADERSHIP AHEAD OF 2027

Kilibwoni Ward in Emgwen Constituency is set for a new wave of development-focused leadership as aspiring Member of County Assembly (MCA) Jester Meli officially unveiled his candidature for the 2027 General Election under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, with a comprehensive six-point agenda aimed at bringing tangible development and lasting impact to the society.
Running under the powerful grassroots slogan “Okono Nafas'” – loosely translated as a new chance and fresh opportunity for the people – Meli says his candidature is not about politics for its own sake, but about restoring service delivery, accountability, and people-centered development to the ward.
Meli, who has been interacting extensively with residents across Kilibwoni, says his agenda was crafted after listening to the real challenges facing mwananchi on the ground.
At the heart of his manifesto is 1. Good Infrastructure. Meli has pledged to develop and maintain quality roads, modern markets, and public facilities. He notes that poor feeder roads have hindered farmers from accessing markets and increased transport costs, while traders continue to operate in unconducive environments. His leadership aims to lobby for proper grading, murraming and maintenance of roads, and upgrading of market infrastructure to spur local economic growth.
Secondly, he is championing 2. Public Participation. Meli says many development projects fail because residents are not involved in planning and decision-making. He promises to strengthen community involvement through regular barazas, public forums, and ward development committees, ensuring that every village has a voice in deciding what projects are prioritized.
His third pillar is 3. Water Connection, which remains a major challenge in several villages in Kilibwoni. He aims to expand clean and reliable water access to all villages through repair of stalled water projects, extension of pipelines, drilling of boreholes, and protection of water springs, noting that water is a basic right and a driver of health and agriculture.
On governance, Meli has anchored his campaign on 4. Oversight and 5. Legislation. He promises to ensure transparency and accountability in the use of public resources allocated to the ward, providing strict oversight over county executive projects. As a legislator, he will support practical laws that address local needs – from agricultural subsidies to youth empowerment and support for small-scale traders.
Finally, his agenda emphasizes 6. Representation – providing strong, honest, and active leadership for Kilibwoni Ward both in the Nandi County Assembly and outside. Meli says the people need an MCA who is present, accessible, and ready to articulate their issues without fear.
Supporters in Kilibwoni say Meli represents a generational shift – youthful, development-minded, and connected to the grassroots. His UDA party colours and clear message of Okono Nafas’ have continued to resonate across the ward as the race to 2027 begins to take shape.
If elected, Meli says his impact will be measured not in political rhetoric but in passable roads, clean water in homes, functional markets, and empowered residents who feel part of their own government.
