Nairobi, Kenya — Makini Schools has unveiled a refreshed brand identity, marking a major milestone in its recent growth and reaffirming its position as a leader in delivering high-quality private education in Kenya and across the region.

The new look, launched on February 20, 2026, forms part of a unified brand rollout across institutions within the ADvTECH International network. The move is designed to align Makini more closely with its international partners while reinforcing its long-standing reputation for academic excellence and values-driven learning.

Despite the visual transformation, the Makini name remains unchanged—an intentional decision that reflects confidence in the school’s heritage and legacy. The updated logo symbolizes clarity, confidence, and readiness for the future, positioning the institution to better prepare learners for a rapidly evolving world.

“This rebrand represents a strategic evolution,” said Horace Mpanza, Regional Managing Director at ADvTECH International. “While our visual identity has been refreshed, our commitment to quality education remains the same. The new identity reflects who we are today and where we are headed as we continue shaping future-ready learners.”

Expansion and Investment in Learning Infrastructure

The rebrand comes amid a sustained period of expansion and investment. Makini recently acquired Regis School—now operating as Makini Schools Runda—broadening its footprint in Nairobi. The institution has also invested more than KSh 100 million to upgrade sports and learning facilities at its Ngong Road and Kisumu campuses.

Across its schools, Makini is strengthening digital learning through tools such as AI-enabled personalised learning platforms, teacher laptops, and classroom projection technology, all aimed at enhancing instruction and learner outcomes.

Mpanza noted that technology will play a defining role in shaping education and the future workforce. “Artificial intelligence will change the nature of work, but it will also create new opportunities that demand creativity, adaptability, and critical thinking. Our learners must be prepared for careers that may not yet exist,” he said.

Supporting Holistic, Competency-Based Education

Education officials welcomed the refreshed identity, noting that Makini’s academic success is matched by strong co-curricular and extracurricular performance. Speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Sub-County Director of Education Lucy Musyoka said the institution exemplifies a balanced approach to learning that nurtures confident, responsible, and innovative individuals.

The new brand will be implemented across Makini campuses in Kenya and extended to sister institutions within the ADvTECH International network, including Gaborone International Schools, further strengthening cross-border collaboration.

Positioning for the Next Chapter

Founded on the principle of accessible, high-quality education, Makini Schools has built a reputation for nurturing well-rounded learners grounded in discipline, strong values, and academic achievement. The refreshed identity aligns with its long-term vision to expand its presence across Africa while maintaining the core values of integrity, growth, excellence, and generosity of spirit.

“Our heritage is our foundation,” Mpanza added. “This rebrand honours our past while confidently positioning Makini for the next generation of learners.”

The unveiling event brought together education stakeholders, parents, partners, and media representatives to mark what the institution described as the beginning of a new chapter focused on innovation, growth, and continental impact.
