Jubilee presidential candidate Dr. Fred Matiang’i has pledged to unite Kenyans through a peaceful, issue-based campaign, saying he will prioritise national cohesion and restore key public services when he forms the next government.
Speaking during a Jubilee Party National Executive Committee meeting in Nairobi, Dr. Matiang’i said his campaign will focus on respect and national unity, rejecting the politics of insults and confrontation.
“We will conquer with love,” he said, adding that attacking rival parties is below Jubilee standards.
Matiang’i reaffirmed that Jubilee’s participation in the United Opposition is a collective party decision and said coalition members will continue aligning their visions ahead of the 2027 General Election. He also delivered greetings from Jubilee Party Leader retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, praising his continued push for national unity.
The presidential candidate issued strong criticism of the current administration, accusing it of mismanaging the education and health sectors and warning that reduced capitation and increased school costs risk triggering widespread school dropouts.
“The pain our people are going through is unbearable,” he said. “This is not politics, it is about our people who are suffering from failed systems.”
He said education must remain at the centre of national priorities, noting:
“There is no greater empowerment you can give our population than access to education. We have been there, we have done it, and that is why we are seeking an opportunity again.”
Matiang’i said Jubilee will issue its detailed plan in the coming weeks and announced that he will meet all elected Jubilee officials as preparations intensify for the 2027 campaign.
