Safaricom Takes 25th Anniversary Campaign to Eldoret, Unveils Customer Offers

Safaricom has launched its 25th anniversary celebrations in Eldoret as part of a nationwide promotion aimed at rewarding loyal customers and deepening its market presence in the Rift Valley region.

Safarcom Regional Business lead Samuel Kirubi said the telco is marking the milestone by showcasing the evolution of its products and services, particularly the growth of M-Pesa into a multifaceted financial platform serving both individual and corporate users.

“Over the past 25 years, Safaricom has introduced innovations such as M-Pesa, which now supports business services and corporate solutions. We attribute this success to our customers who have walked with us through this journey,” he said.

As part of the campaign, Safaricom is offering smartphones payable in instalments, subsidised data bundles, and branded merchandise. The promotion will later extend to other counties within the Rift valley.

Kirubi said the anniversary drive is also meant to strengthen partnerships with small businesses, corporates, and local communities.

Uasin Gishu County CEC for Trade Martha Cheruto urged entrepreneurs to leverage digital solutions, noting that Safaricom has played a key role in enabling e-commerce and mobile-driven productivity.

“Technology is now central to business growth, and platforms like M-Pesa have helped many SMEs scale,” she said.

Safaricom, Kenya’s largest telco by market share, has grown from a voice service provider in 2000 to a fully-fledged digital and fintech company, with over 30 million M-Pesa users and an expanding footprint in agriculture, education, and e-commerce solutions.
