Airtel Kenya has launched ‘Airtel Lite,’ a cutting-edge Progressive Web App (PWA) designed to provide a seamless and lightweight self-care experience without consuming phone storage or data.

Airtel Lite mirrors the capabilities of the My Airtel self-care app, allowing users to check balances, recharge, buy bundles, send money, pay bills, and access transaction history all while requiring no downloads or installations.

The launch comes as Airtel Kenya also announces the zero-rating of the My Airtel app, reinforcing its commitment to eliminating data barriers for customers.

With smartphone users increasingly conscious of storage limitations and data consumption, Airtel Lite offers a game-changing alternative, ensuring uninterrupted access to essential telecom services.

Speaking during the launch,Airtel Kenya Managing Director Ashish Malhotra said that Airtel Kenya, is constantly striving to address customers’ needs in ways that add real value to their lives.

“Our research revealed that many Kenyans face challenges such as limited storage space and data constraints when using their smartphones,” he noted.

Additionally,he stated that Airtel Lite is an innovative solution, designed to remove the barriers and ensure a seamless, accessible digital experience for all.

The PWA’s fast-loading interface is tailored for users seeking quick and efficient access to key services without the delays associated with traditional mobile apps.

Additionally, Airtel Lite supports offline access to core functions, ensuring connectivity even in low-network conditions.
