Access4Safe Beneficiaries Graduate from Digital Safety Training in Nairobi

Beneficiaries of the Access4Safe project received certificates on Saturday, August 1, 2026, after completing the second Digital Safety and Phishing Awareness Training in Nairobi. Photos from the certificate presentation ceremony showed participants being recognized for successfully finishing the programme.

The training comes amid growing concern over online risks in Kenya. With the country’s expanding fibre networks, mobile money and social media use, women and youth are particularly exposed to online harassment, identity theft and financial fraud.

In response, NGOs and civil society groups have stepped in to bridge the digital safety gap, with several initiatives currently training communities and media organisations in Nairobi and Nakuru on identifying and responding to emerging digital threats. Trust-Lab is among organisations leading capacity-building programmes focused on cyber awareness and misinformation detection.

Organisers say strengthening digital literacy is key to building long-term resilience and reducing harm before it spreads. The Access4Safe graduates are expected to champion safer online practices in their communities.
