Kenya to Host Major International Building and Construction Expo in Nairobi*
Industry leaders highlight sustainability, green finance, and regional collaboration ahead of June 2026 exhibition
Nairobi will host Kenya’s premier international exhibition on the building and construction industry from 11th to 13th June 2026 at the Sarit Expo Centre, bringing together industry players, policymakers, investors, and development partners from across the region and beyond.
Speaking during a press conference ahead of the event, organizers announced that the exhibition will serve as a major platform for advancing conversations on sustainable construction, green financing, and innovation in the built environment.
They noted that the industry has evolved significantly over the past 27 years, with the initiative now extending beyond Kenya to countries including Uganda, Tanzania, Mauritius, Seychelles, and other parts of East Africa.
“We have been here for 27 years. Over time, our contractors and developers have grown with the programme, and today our network spans across the region,” one of the speakers said. “Our purpose is not only local development but also representing the industry internationally and raising standards across borders.”
Shift Toward Green Building and Sustainable Construction
A key focus of the upcoming exhibition will be the shift toward sustainable and green building practices.
Organizers highlighted the increasing role of the Green Building Council in shaping industry standards and promoting environmentally friendly construction methods.
“The industry trend is changing. We are no longer just constructing with concrete, steel, and cement. Green building is now playing a central role in shaping the future of construction,” one speaker noted.
The forum also emphasized the importance of engaging stakeholders, including financial institutions, to unlock green financing for real estate, infrastructure, and construction projects.
“We are in conversations with banks on how to unlock green financing. This platform gives us the opportunity to turn discussions into partnerships and investment,” the organizers added.
Knowledge Sharing and Industry Collaboration
Madam Rachel Hellen, speaking during the second session, thanked the organizers for creating a platform that fosters collaboration and international engagement.
She said the exhibition provides a valuable opportunity for universities and institutions to share technology being used in Kenya and promote sustainable development.
“This is a good platform to showcase technology used in Kenya and introduce it to the field of sustainable development,” she said, inviting stakeholders to participate in the upcoming B4E4 event.
Energy, Innovation, and Global Partnerships
In the closing remarks, speakers highlighted the growing role of renewable energy and smart technologies in shaping the future of construction and infrastructure.
They cited advances in solar energy storage, power management systems, and intelligent energy technologies that support residential, commercial, industrial, and off-grid applications.
One of the key industry players noted that over recent years, companies have expanded their global footprint to more than 30 countries, delivering tens of thousands of energy projects and supporting over 50 gigawatts of installed storage capacity worldwide.
Organizers emphasized that the exhibition will also focus on renewable energy education, sustainable technologies, and cross-sector partnerships.
“We are proud to bring together industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders to share insights, showcase solutions, and drive meaningful conversations about the future of construction, renewable energy, and sustainable infrastructure,” they said.
Call to Participation
Participants are being encouraged to attend the exhibition to explore new technologies, establish partnerships, and engage with global exhibitors and investors.
The event is expected to attract policymakers, development partners, media representatives, and private sector stakeholders, reinforcing Kenya’s position as a regional hub for innovation in construction and energy.
Organizers concluded by inviting the public to the exhibition, promising a unique opportunity to discover innovations, exchange knowledge, and shape the future of the industry.
