Java House Opens First Kisii Branch, Nears 100-Store Milestone in East Africa

Java House, East Africa’s leading casual dining chain, has officially launched its first branch in Kisii Town, marking a major step toward its goal of 100 outlets across the region. The new branch, located at TotalEnergies in Kisii Town, is part of the brand’s strategic expansion aligned with its 25th anniversary.

Speaking during the launch, Java House CEO Priscilla Gathungu emphasized the company’s continued commitment to delivering a consistent and high-quality dining experience while fostering local community engagement.

“We are excited to bring the Java experience to Kisii. The town is a key location due to its growing population and role as a transit hub in Western and Nyanza regions,” said Gathungu.

“The reception so far has been overwhelmingly positive. Beyond offering a space for connections, we are proud to create employment and be part of Kisii’s economic fabric.”he added.

Kisii County CECM for Trade, Tourism, Industry and Marketing, Hon. Cyrus Nyabicha, commended Java House’s investment, calling it a vote of confidence in Kisii’s business environment.

“This move reflects the strides we’ve made in making Kisii investor-friendly. We welcome Java and other brands seeking to grow with our community,” Nyabicha said.

The new branch is expected to invigorate Kisii’s hospitality sector while contributing to cultural and economic development.

Alongside its physical growth, Java House continues to scale its social impact initiatives through the Java Foundation, including partnerships with Food For Education and the Craft Silicon Foundation to expand school meals and support local agriculture and the arts.

With Kisii added to its footprint, Java House strengthens its position as a regional leader in dining and community-driven growth.
