Family Bank Opens 96th Branch in Kilifi, Expanding Coastal Reach
Family Bank has strengthened its presence in Kenya’s coastal region with the opening of its 96th branch nationwide and the 9th in the Coast, officially launching operations at Kilifi Plaza, Kilifi County.
The new branch is part of the bank’s strategic plan to deepen financial inclusion and support small businesses across the country. It will offer a comprehensive suite of financial services including asset financing, business and trade financing, women-focused banking products, loan facilities, and a range of digital banking solutions.

Speaking during the launch, Family Bank Chief Executive Officer Nancy Njau underscored the bank’s commitment to retail banking and to empowering Kenya’s micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
“Kilifi’s growing demand for financial services presents a compelling opportunity for us to support the growth of the local business community,” said Njau. “This expansion reflects our continued commitment to empowering SMEs and strengthening our presence as the Preferred Bank for Biashara.”
Njau added that the move aligns with the bank’s 2025–2029 Strategic Plan, which prioritizes optimizing its branch network and establishing SME-focused hubs that integrate physical and digital platforms to enhance customer convenience.
In addition to the Kilifi branch, Family Bank has recently relocated three other branches in Kangemi, Kisii, and Ngara to newly designed, modern spaces aimed at improving customer experience and accessibility.
Family Bank continues to solidify its position in Kenya’s competitive banking sector, aiming to deliver customer-centric services and contribute to regional economic development.
