NAIROBI, Kenya, April 2026 — NewsLightKenya has opened Call for applications for a Training of Trainers (ToT) on digital safety and phishing, targeting Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) who are content creators or aspiring creators.
The initiative theme Access4safe seeks to build the capacity of PWDs to identify, prevent and respond to growing online threats, particularly phishing attacks that increasingly target digital users and content creators.
According to the organisers, the programme will equip selected participants with practical skills to navigate the digital space safely while preparing them to pass on the knowledge within their communities.
The training is scheduled to take place on April 18th 2026, in Nairobi, bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds with an interest in content creation and digital engagement.
Participants will undergo hands-on sessions designed to strengthen their digital resilience and enhance their role as advocates for safer online spaces. Upon completion, they are expected to serve as trainers, extending digital safety awareness to wider networks.

The call comes at a time when digital threats are on the rise, underscoring the need for inclusive approaches that ensure no one is left behind in efforts to promote cybersecurity awareness.
Applications are now open, with NewsLightKenya encouraging eligible PWD content creators across the country to apply and take part in building safer digital communities.
