Aspiring Kibwezi West Member of Parliament Urbanus Wambua has declared his full support for Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka’s presidential bid, urging residents of Kibwezi West and the larger Eastern region to unite behind the Wiper Party leader ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during the Wiper Patriotic Front National delegates conference in Nairobi on Friday, Wambua said the event marked a turning point for opposition politics, emphasizing the need for unity and strong leadership to challenge the ruling coalition.
“We have officially endorsed Dr. Kalonzo Musyoka as our presidential candidate come 2027 under the Wiper Patriotic Front,” Wambuakana said. “This is the beginning of a new chapter for our country. We are ready to work together to restore dignity, accountability, and development in Kenya.”
Wambua commended opposition figures including Dr. Fred Matiang’i, Eugene Wamalwa, Martha Karua, and Justin Muturi for supporting the joint declaration backing Kalonzo as the coalition’s presidential flagbearer.
He described the move as a bold step toward consolidating the opposition and presenting a single, strong alternative to the current administration.
He criticized members of parliament from the Eastern region who skipped the event, accusing them of betraying their constituents. “Some of our leaders have allowed themselves to be compromised,” he said.
“Those who failed to attend today’s function have shown they no longer represent the people. The voters of Eastern Kenya will not forget.”
Wambua assured residents of Kibwezi West that their interests would remain at the center of his political agenda, promising firm representation and dedication to service.
“The people of Kibwezi West have stood with me, and I will stand with them,” he said. “We are committed to bringing change, growing our region, and rescuing the country from failed leadership.”
He thanked his supporters for their trust and participation in the national political discourse, saying their unity was key to building a stronger opposition front.
“Thank you to the people of Kibwezi West for your faith and resilience,” Wambua said. “Together, we will work for a better future under the leadership of Dr. Kalonzo Musyoka.”
