Kazi Mashinani Chairperson Mourns Raila Odinga, Calls Him a “Liberator Sent by God”

The National Chairperson of Kazi Mashinani and leader of the Team RAO County Coordinators, Mr. Joachim Maragia, has paid a glowing tribute to the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga, describing him as a selfless leader and a visionary who dedicated his life to liberating Kenya.
Sharing his speech, Maragia said Raila’s death has left the country in deep mourning, adding that his passing has not only shocked Kenyans but has also sent waves of grief across the world. “Raila Odinga was not just a Kenyan leader; he was a global symbol of democracy, justice, and courage. His influence transcended borders and inspired generations,” Maragia said.
He described the former Prime Minister as a humble and approachable leader who listened to people from all walks of life and offered wise counsel whenever called upon. “He was a father figure to many, a unifying voice for the voiceless, and a man who believed in fairness and equality. Kenya has lost a true son, and Africa has lost a hero,” he added.
Maragia compared Raila Odinga to an angel sent to guide the nation through difficult times, noting that his relentless fight for multi-party democracy and good governance transformed Kenya’s political landscape. “He endured detention, persecution, and betrayal, yet remained steadfast in his belief that Kenya could be better. His spirit of resilience and hope should guide us even in his absence,” he said.
In honor of Raila’s legacy, Maragia directed all members of the Team RAO County Coordinators to hold a special meeting on Friday at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation headquarters to reflect on his life and chart the way forward. The meeting, he said, would provide a platform to discuss how the movement can uphold Raila’s vision of unity, justice, and prosperity for all Kenyans.
“As we mourn, we must also celebrate the life of a great patriot who gave his all for Kenya. Let us remain united and continue the journey he began. His dream for a just, free, and prosperous nation must not die with him,” Maragia emphasized.
Raila Odinga, the former Prime Minister and long-time opposition leader, passed away in India after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 80 years old.
On behalf of himself, his family, and the TEAM RAO County Coordinators, Mr. Joachim Maragia has sent a heartfelt message of condolence to the widow of the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga, the entire Oginga family, members of the ODM Party, and all Kenyans for the loss of Baba Raila Odinga.
He prayed that God may grant the departed leader eternal peace and comfort to his loved ones. At the same time, Maragia urged Kenyans to pray that God may bless the nation with another visionary leader like Raila Odinga
